Old is Only an Attitude

I was reading this article on Mercola.com and found it so fascinating that I wanted to share it. It’s about a 97 year old Japanese doctor who shares his tips for longevity. He asserts that energy comes from having fun – and I have to agree. When’s the last time a US doctor prescribed this for low energy? Go have fun. Most likely they send their patients home with a drug prescription. Dr. Hinohara reminds us that kids who are playing and having fun rarely take time to eat or sleep – they’re so in the moment. That’s what this blog is about – finding that sweet spot of flow in my own life – where work becomes play and play becomes work.
For any of us who are feeling like we’re too old to do great things – take notice. Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara has published 150 papers since his 75th birthday! That’s still 25 years away for me – almost my entire adult life so far. Sure gives me a different perspective of age.
I thought I had a pretty good plan for my old age until I read this – I may have to reconsider my list

I remember your list … it seemed pretty adventurous, I don’t know where you’d revise? I love reading stories like this, they’re such an inpsiration. So much in life comes down to attitude, how really just changing our way of thinking, our perception, can greatly improve our health, physical and psychological. And if we can find a way to have our passion be our work, or vice versa, all the better!
